APPLICATION

There is no city so barbarous or so strange in its speech that it does not know the Fame of the hero Peleus … )

Apr. 9th, 2017

I sometimes wonder if we don't let go of the past how will we ever advance to the future? I have always hoped that for my own flesh and blood, and still there is nothing but silence.

Ennea

Looks like the best man to my wedding just showed up. I'm not sure proper etiquette at a time like this.

Dec. 31st, 2015

I find the more I try, the more I encourage nothing but hate and spite from my own blood. Call it callous, but if divine intervention could intercept, now would be the time. Maybe if the Fates could give me some sort of timeline so I could get an idea of how long this adolescent behavior was going to go on for.

[Viewable to all but Achilles]

Sometimes it's hard to think how as a parent I can be happy when my child is so unhappy. I used to be a name that he thought highly of, one that was victorious and now it is with blind hatred that he casts me and his mother aside. And there is nothing that can be done. It is hard to watch.

Yet, I cannot punish myself for his misfortune. Perhaps the best thing for him is to let him fall before he can rise again.

It's no small thing to watch your own child spiral down into his own misery, without being able to stop it. Am I so despised that I'm just a ghost, a shadow of a man before you? At one time you carried my name with pride, now it's disgust.

Achilles....

I don't say this to punish you, you're doing that enough on your own---but for your mother's benefit---set it aside. Is it really worth it?

Eta

There are times when you can only teach your children so much before they turn it back against you. Obedience should never wane, no matter how old a child is. It does not mean their tongue can wag and spout whatever they feel just to defend their own bruised head. I thought my son had more sense than that, at least somewhere buried in that thick skull of his. I would beat it out of him if it would actually prove anything, but I know his strength and I know mine. His is far beyond my own and if I were to disappear, I'm not sure I could come back.

But that boy needs to learn...

Whenever something seems impossible, I remind myself that all great wars are fought by strong-minded men that know how to lead. I will not be taken down by some Greek god with a revenge clause written in his contract. Even the walls of Troy were taken down by mortal men, Gods be in their favor, but it was not impossible.

Poseidon, this is me telling you that if this treaty of yours is to be made, it will not come easily.

Vau

When did I become the interest of Poseidon? A formal invitation for lunch in all senses of the word sounds fishy.

It is a bit quiet. I can take that as a sign of things to come, or that the winds are blowing in my favor. Now, if only I could mend things with my son.

[Thetis]
How about a walk on the beach after dinner? If you shapeshift into a fish, I have a net.

[Thetis had always been an arranged marriage, but whatever feelings he may have had for her they never got the chance to explore when she started killing off sons to try and protect them. With Achilles he had always done what he felt was right in the same respect she had done just the same. They were two different sides of a coin fighting each other to try and reach common ground, but she refused, so Peleus was left fighting on his own. It was a courageous uphill battle that he'd been fighting since day one. And for the first time her face appeared in his mind that day reminding him of how beautiful he thought she was on that wedding day. She might as well have been a mail-order-bride in today's time, but in ancient Greece she was a gift. Zeus himself had wanted her, as did Poseidon but the burden of having a child that could overcome them had ultimately been the huge turnoff. Not for Peleus. He was a mortal man who had the strength to endure whatever she dished out.]

I've thought about it before, but not like this. It was such a distant memory, it seemed kind of impossible. I remembered being happy on my wedding day.

Despite what my wife and son think I am not dead to them, nor do I intend to just disappear quietly. I was a warrior once myself and unless Zeus himself comes down to say I don't deserve the wife he rightfully gave me, then I will continue to pursue.

I did not come here to start a war.

Family should be more open than this. I'm not the only one that walked away.

Seems this city is too small and time is all I have to make amends. This is going to be a long haul. Whether Thetis she wants it or not, I stand my ground. This is my home too.
